Happy Independence Day

So.......I FINALLY invested in a tripod, remote, etc. And started taking my own pics. Yay!!!! No need to pester every single family member of mine to take my pictures. I'm a happy camper. But. I must say....other people taking pics of me in public was uncomfortable in and of itself. Taking my own pics.......well it takes the whole embarrassing/uncomfortable thing to a whole nother level (erryday erryday erryday lol). I try to go to no man's land (why isn't it called no woman's land?!). But somehow. The minute I start taking my pics....someone pulls up in their car. And it's usually a creepo. And I make a run for my car. Run Rita Run loll! Anyways, to all my friends in the U.S. have a very happy and safe 4th of July:))!

  7. Haha... that must be awkward. But better than having to rely on someone to always take your pictures! Love your classic red, white and blue outfit. Happy 4th!

  8. Great outfit... those flats with the ankle straps are so cute! Yay for getting a tripod and remote. I use the same setup but when I do take outfit photos I just step out onto my back deck because it's easy and private. :) Maybe one of these days I'll work up the courage to venture out to a different location! Watch out for the creepos!!!

  11. Ha ha, I know what you mean about the awkwardness! Funnily, it's less embarrassing when someone else is taking your pictures because at least you can pretend you're being tourist-y or something. Happy 4th of July!

  14. I love this nautical outfit Rita, you look gorgeous! I usually take my outfit photos with a tripod but I'm extra happy when Mr. Jackson is home to take them for me because it's so less awkward than just being out there by yourself. Send me some of your gumption girl!

  15. So pretty! I love your lipstick especially and you just look gorgeous. And I think it's great that you're taking your own pictures - I always feel like SUCH a bother asking everyone around me to take my picture. I applaud your investment! Have a wonderful weekend :)

  16. Rita! This outfit is adorable - enough patriotism going on without verging on flag tees. You are so cute. While tripod picture taking is awkward, I think you'll grow to love it - you can take as many pictures as you want until you get enough you like :)

  20. I have been seriously thinking about getting a tripod & remote since my hubby hates taking my photo. Plus I can go on location rather just my backyard too. Perfect outfit for the 4th! Your flats are adorable. Hope you had a time celebrating the 4th!

  24. Love that look, Rita!! Your lipstick is gorgeous and suits you so well.
    Beautiful woman :-)

I know what you mean... usually my daughter takes my pics but she'll be off to university soon. Then her friend will step in but my next investment will be my own camera+tripod.

I know... people can be so embarrassing. Recently my daughter nearly lost her temper when a group of tourists walked by, turned round at the corner, came back again before they decided they actually did want to go into the other direction again... ;-)

If someone pulls up, just say it's a university project or something, then you don#t have to be embarrased!

It's definitely on my wishlist so I too don't have to super annoyingly nag every member of my family haha. These turned out great though! I'm so nervous about where to take them though haha.

  37. I feel you hear, Rita! It's awkward esp here in our country eyes will be everywhere if someone took a picture of you how much more if you're doing it alone! But for the sake of the blogging world that we love we pull it off. Nice flats it so cute I think its my first time seeing you on flats. You look so energetic and happy with this look! Have a great day!

  39. Hope you had an awesome 4th of July holiday. Congrats on the new purchases, I really need to invest in those myself since I can never find anyone to take photos and then when I do, the photos turn out crap. So I gotts ta do it myself. But I hear your fear, I'm the same way. Have you thought about shooting in your backyard? No creepers laying in wait - at least I hope not hahaha!
