When I put on this skirt I was instantly reminded of the salsa dancing scene with Ben Stiller and Jennifer Aniston in Along Came Polly. Ben Stiller's character reminds me a lot of myself. He is anal (that I am), uptight (that I am too), has OCD tendencies (that I am three), and a lack of dancing technique (that I am times a million). It would be funny if I ended up with someone like Jennifer Aniston...the polar opposite. Balance is good, but that would probably be too extreme lol. So ya, it's one of my favorite movies. If you haven't watched it, you should. Here is my little salsa-inspired outfit. I channeled Rita Pita Chiquita Banana for the day:)! Happy Friday and Thanks For Reading:)!

Hippy-Dippy Flower Child
In my past life, I was a hippy-dippy flower child. I wore bell-bottom jeans, flowy tops, and flowers in my hair. I listened to Simon and Garfunkel, Jim Croce, Kansas, Scott McKenzie, and The Eagles. I was all up in the peace, love, and happiness movement. Looks like my very core hasn't changed. I've been told on countless occasions that I'm an old soul. Like really old. Sophia from the "Golden Girls" type old. I don't know if that's a compliment or an insult lol. So with this outfit, I was channeling my inner hippy (the modernized version, of course). Hope you like it and thanks for reading:)!

Peplum & Polka Dots
Happy Friday, Friends! Let's get this fabulous weekend started. Who's heading to the beach? Who's staying in their homes with the A/C on blast? Who's stocking up on 21 flavors of ice cream? Ahem, me. Probably a combination of all of the above, huh? Whatever it is you choose to do, enjoy, stay cool, and make sure to drink lots and lots of water. P.S. Hope you like my little peplum and polka dot outfit!

Channelling Fall
It's so so hot outside. I have no idea what to wear! Definitely not jeans, a button-up top, and leopard loafers. What was I thinking in this 110 degree heat?! This looks more like a fall outfit. Let's call it a fall sneak peek.

Pieces of Movie/TV History
Do these homes look familiar? Well, the first one is the home in "Mrs. Doubtfire":)....one of my favorite movies of all time (Ahhh, Laila, get back in your cell! Don't make me get the hose). I even own the soundtrack! Such a beautiful area. No fog (my luck). About 68 degrees out. Very comfortable. My favorite piece of movie history. In case you want to visit....the "Mrs. Doubtfire" home is located at 2640 Steiner St. San Francisco, CA.
The second doesn't look all too familiar, right? Channel your childhood. The late 80s and early 90s. What ever happened to predictability. The milkman, the paperboy, evening TV? You miss your old familiar friends, waiting just around the bend. Everywhere you look, Everywhere, there's a heart (there's a heart) a hand to hold onto. Yes, it's the "Full House" house:). The house looks a tad different, but it's probably had a few facelifts over the years. The address is 1709 Broderick St. San Francisco, CA.

Happy 4th of July!
Happy Birthday, America, Oh Sweet Land of Liberty! Let the freedom bells ring and the choirs sing because we are proud to be Americans! All through this country we will be celebrating Independence Day in signature American style with backyard barbecues, picnics in the park, festivals, parades, and fireworks galore. We will pay tribute to our great country with ceremonies and patriotic songs that fill our hearts with pride and joy. On this day, we will also honor our fallen heroes and give thanks to all our courageous military men and women.
July 4th is simply my favorite holiday. It tops my holiday list for a few reasons: A) Family bonding time B) The Weather...I live for summer nights (minus the june bugs....I HATE JUNE BUGS!!) C) Food. The smell fills the streets. Cue the salivation. D) Fireworks...of course! Even when I'm an old haggard lady fireworks will still give me the butterflies! I can go on and on...but I'll spare you the time.
Here is my latest set. I've worn the outfit, but I'm yet to post some decent pictures. I threw on a mint colored bib necklace with the peplum top. It added an extra pop of color to the outfit. Unfortunately, I couldn't find anything similar on Polyvore. I think the outfit is very summery and quite 4th of July-eee too:)! Hope you like it! Ya'll have a happy and safe 4th of July!

Red, Ivory, And Blue...I'm In Love With You
Do I look like the American Flag or what? What can I say, I'm embracing the colors....and just in time for July 4th :)! I hope you 're all enjoying this beautiful weather as much as I am! I *LIVE* for the heat...like the sweltering-I-can't-breath-get-me-out-of-here kind of heat:)! Crazy, I know.

Homemade Chocolate Chip Ice Cream Sandwiches
As a child, nothing brought a bigger smile to my face, than the sound of an ice cream truck. The minute I heard the jingle, I would run to my parents for a dollar and then chase the truck down like my life depended on it. I had my favorites.....lucas (do you remember this?), snow cones, and .....the chocolate chip cookie sandwich.
Well, yesterday it was 90 degrees....and no ice cream truck in sight. Yes, I'm not a child anymore.....but that doesn't mean I can't eat like one! So I decided to replicate my childhood favorite from the comfort of my kitchen. I used a Trader Joe's Buttermilk Pancake Mix for the chocolate chip cookies.
Here is the recipe:
Chocolate Chip Cookies
1/2 cup (1 stick) butter, softened
2 eggs
2 tsp vanilla
3 cups Trader Joe's Baking Mix
1 cup packed brown sugar
1 cup chocolate chips
Add softened butter, eggs, and vanilla to a large bowl. Blend with a spoon until creamy. Stir in baking mix, sugar, and chocolate chips. Using a tablespoon, drop spoonfuls of dough onto a lightly greased cookie sheet, 2 inches apart. Bake in a 375 degree oven for 10-12 minutes or until light golden brown.
Let cookies cool. Then, top with your favorite ice cream. I used chocolate chip cookie dough:). Sprinkle with mini chocolate chips (the more chocolate...the merrier). Freeze until ready to serve....OR.....just take a big, huge, ginormous, sloppy bite and let the ice cream just run down your chin.

Red Velvet Cupcakes
Yesterday was a moist, cream cheesy, red velvet cupcake....kinda day! I had such a strong craving, so I whipped up a batch of my favorite cupcakes. They baked up in no time and were beyond delicious. No utensils necessary. For full enjoyment...use your hands;-). So smooth and silky...each cupcake jumped into my mouth and slid down my throat...3,2,1....oh my where have all the cupcakes gone? Perfect ending to this beautiful, hot, sunny, Spring weekend! How did you spend your weekend?
Here is the Red Velvet Cupcake Recipe I followed. Enjoy!
